I purchased the DS 708 diagnostics kit in January and have been unable to use it due to the unit not allowing updates to be downloaded, I have tried to talk and email my problem to this web service but they do not appear to have the ability to assist

had the scanner for about a month so far and i love it,
it does everything the genesys and the high end snap-on scanner do for less then a quarter of the price.

they always have new updates, but they dont take long to download (assuming you have high speed internet) and for me i am able to select them all and let them download, plus if you want you can download them to your computer and load them directly into the SD card (the unit comes with USB card reader)

the only downside to the unit is that it will take some getting used to and the menu is not unified, for example, if you want to check the ECU, under some manufactures it will be listed as ECU unit, others PCM units, others something different. its a minor thing and for me it dosent bother me much

i have used it on 2001 mercedes S500 (W220 body) and it scanned a total of 41 different systems, i didnt even know the car had that many systems, it scanned everything from AC to Radio, Navigation, Insturment cluster, ABS, Airmatic......etc

overall im very happy with it

Hi i have had my ds708 for 4 weeks the best bit of kit i have ever bought great value for money does everthing i need it to do would recomend it to anybody

I purchased this tool through my supplier in Calgary and I was extremely disappointed because first of all, to update this tool it takes hours and hours. They have 51 updates ( 51 vehicles) you can only update 3 vehicles at the same time and it takes approximately 10 minutes for each vehicle. I did update this tool in April 2nd and it took me the whole day to go through all the updates because every 3 vehicles updated have to be marked and then pick another 3 vehicles to update. After one week of the update (April 10th) I went to check my updates and SUPRISE! All the vehicles make and models need update. I contacted the poor costumer service that they have SUPRISE! They don't let you ask your question! "You are stupid! Shut up!" and that's the attitude they give you. When I try and try to repeat my question about the problem I am having, he never let me talk and he said “Sir you have to listen and understand our point, you are not doing what we are asking you" Really?! Is this a costumer service?! At the end, he will tell you to refer to our website and watch the tutorial video. I don't need a video, I need costumer support! I called my sell rep and he came to my shop and I showed him the updates that were done on the 2nd of April and showed him the updates that needed to be done on the 10th of April... He was surprised so he decided to contact the poor Autel costumer support and they confirmed that the tool needs an updates almost every week, and it takes hours and hours. On top of that, my rep was surprised by the attitude the costumer support had. I told him that I didn't want the tool and he agreed with me and he took it back. So, DON'T BUY IT!

I have purchaced the DS708 and I do a lot of transmission repairs, while using the tool on a 1997 Dodge Caravan I wanted to do a transmission relearn and that is not in functional test in your scan tool. Is this a oversite on your part? Do you plan on adding this to your tool thru update downloads?? There is also another thing missing and that is Pinion Factor this is checking that the right tire tire size is entered.
