i bought this item paid alot for it has sat here for over a year and has not once read accuratly, on any eeprom or obd2 port many different makes and models no its not locked no i never hooked it up to a computer and no i hae never tried to update it it just does not communicate with any vehicle like there should have been some type of bin file that should have been flashed to it before i got it. i have since had success reading eeproms with a cheaper reader i bought right here in canada for a fraction of the price i am not impressed its a door stop now!
